Join us at September’s community coffee morning for great company, delicious home baking and a warm welcome. It’s an opportunity to catch up with neighbours and friends and enjoy a wee treat. There will be a stall selling a range of fabulous hand sewn items. 

Doors open at 10:30.

This month we’ll be supporting Moray Fresh Start by donating a share of the proceeds to help this local charity continue its valuable work helping people move from homelessness into a settled home.

Moray Fresh Start provides Starter Packs of essential household items for people starting again with very little. Over the past three years they have supported more than 870 people across Moray, including over 300 children.

Donations can be dropped off at Unit 10, Old Elgin Railway Station, Maisondieu Road, Elgin, or brought along to our coffee morning.

We’re delighted to welcome Nick Chambers to Roseisle Hall on Thursday 17 September to kick off our autumn/winter series of talks.

Nick has been passionate about gardening since the age of 16. After studying horticulture at Hadlow College in Kent, where he was inspired by the gardens of Great Dixter and Sissinghurst, he went on to work across almost every aspect of horticulture, from retail and arboriculture to commercial growing, parks and gardens.

Teaching became another passion, and since moving to the North East of Scotland in 2005, Nick has been a lecturer in horticulture at Moray College. With his wealth of experience and particular love of well-planted gardens, Nick is perfectly placed to take us on a fascinating journey through the history of garden design.

From the gardens of ancient Egypt, through Roman and Italian influences, the French Renaissance and the development of British garden styles, Nick explores how ideas, fashions and influences have shaped our gardens over the centuries - right through to the Arts and Crafts movement and the modern era.

Come along and discover how the gardens we know today have been shaped by centuries of changing ideas, tastes and influences.

We are delighted to be hosting a special performance of Bothy Tales by John D Burns on Friday 9 October.

Funny, entertaining and informative, Bothy Tales has been warmly received by audiences across Scotland. Suitable for all the family, John engages with his audience from the moment he falls through the door of a remote bothy.

We follow his life in the hills of the Scottish Highlands and on to adventures in the Canadian Rockies, including an encounter with a mountain lion and a near-death experience in an avalanche.

John has spent more than forty years among the mountains of the Scottish Highlands. An author and public speaker, his books tell of his adventures in this iconic landscape and have become classics for those who love wild places.

After the performance, there will be an opportunity to meet John over a cuppa and have a chat about his adventures. You will also have the chance to purchase a signed copy of one of his books — a lovely opportunity to take home a little piece of the evening.

Tickets for this special event are £9 for adults and £4.50 for under 16’s.
